Betting odds for the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix – Are Ferrari favourites for back-to-back success?
Publish Date:2022/4/1 2:05The 2022 season is well and truly underway, with Charles Leclerc winning the opening race for Ferrari last weekend. Ably backed up by his team mate Carlos Sainz in P2, it’s no surprise that the odds reflect the Scuderia’s upturn in form heading into Saudi Arabia…
188BET's odds are presented in decimal form: for every $1 wagered you would win the figure represented by the odds; so if Verstappen is favourite at 1.50, you would win $1.50 for every dollar bet.
The odds for the win
With Leclerc battling Max Verstappen for much of last Sunday before the Dutchman ran into reliability problems, it looks like the Scuderia are favourites for the win this weekend.
The Dutchman finished second here last season to a certain Lewis Hamilton. Speaking of the Mercedes man, although he managed to salvage a podium from Bahrain, the W13 was off the pace of the likes of Ferrari and Red Bull – and the odds seem to reflect that. But will the Jeddah track favour the Silver Arrows more than Sakhir did?
● Charles Leclerc 2.35
● Max Verstappen 2.50
● Carlos Sainz 8.00
● Lewis Hamilton 11.0
● Sergio Perez 15.0
● George Russell 34.0
● Kevin Magnussen 67.0
● Esteban Ocon, Fernando Alonso, Pierre Gasly, Valtteri Bottas 151
● Daniel Ricciardo, Lando Norris, Mick Schumacher, Yuki Tsunoda, Zhou Guanyu 301
● Sebastian Vettel 601
● Alexander Albon, Lance Stroll, Nicholas Latifi 901
The odds for who will be fastest in qualifying
Lewis Hamilton grabbed pole and the win here last year, although it was anything but straightforward. But in 2022, from an admittedly small sample size, Leclerc is the man to beat over one lap so far.
But can Verstappen fight back, or can Sainz grab a maiden Formula 1 pole position? This is what the odds say…
● Charles Leclerc 2.25
● Max Verstappen 2.75
● Carlos Sainz 6.50
● Lewis Hamilton 11.0
● Sergio Perez 15.0
● George Russell 34.0
● Kevin Magnussen, Fernando Alonso, Pierre Gasly, Valtteri Bottas 67.0
● Esteban Ocon, Lando Norris, Mick Schumacher, Yuki Tsunoda, Zhou Guanyu 151
● Daniel Ricciardo 301
● Lance Stroll, Sebastian Vettel 601
● Alexander Albon, Nicholas Latifi 901
The odds for a podium finish
Last year, Hamilton was on the top step of the rostrum, with Verstappen and Valtteri Bottas also up there with the Englishman. Fast forward, well, just a few months and Bottas has headed off to pastures new – although with that strong showing last weekend, perhaps Alfa’s chances of a podium aren’t nearly as remote as they were last season.
Ferrari had both drivers on the podium in Bahrain, and but for that late reliability concern, Red Bull could have had either driver up there. And with such a close midfield behind, there are definitely a few drivers who will fancy their chances in Jeddah.
● Charles Leclerc, Max Verstappen 1.25
● Carlos Sainz 1.85
● Sergio Perez 3.00
● Lewis Hamilton 3.50
● George Russell 6.00
● Kevin Magnussen 11.0
● Valtteri Bottas 13.0
● Fernando Alonso, Pierre Gasly 21.0
● Esteban Ocon 26.0
● Lando Norris, Mick Schumacher, Yuki Tsunoda, Zhou Guanyu 34.0
● Daniel Ricciardo 41.0
● Lance Stroll, Sebastian Vettel 101
● Alexander Albon, Nicholas Latifi 251
The odds for fastest lap
The bonus point that goes to the driver who sets the fastest lap of the race, provided they finish in the top 10, can cause all sorts of strategy dilemmas. But with degradation higher than expected in Bahrain, it was the man out front running in the clean air who grabbed it, Leclerc having nigh on the perfect weekend with pole and the race win also in the bag.

With last season’s tight title fight still fresh in the memory, and as such, every point potentially crucial, the top teams will certainly be doing everything they can to secure the bonus point. But keep an eye on the midfield – an extra point for any of those teams could easily be the difference in the constructors’ come the end of the season.
Who's favourite to take the bonus point in Bahrain?
● Charles Leclerc 2.50
● Max Verstappen 3.00
● Carlos Sainz 4.00
● Lewis Hamilton, Sergio Perez 11.0
● George Russell 23.0
● Kevin Magnussen, Valtteri Bottas 67.0
● Esteban Ocon, Fernando Alonso, Pierre Gasly 101
● Alexander Albon, Daniel Ricciardo, Lance Stroll, Lando Norris, Mick Schumacher, Nicholas Latifi, Sebastian Vettel Yuki Tsunoda, Zhou Guanyu 251
What are the odds for which team will take the most points?
Ferrari got their season off to a perfect start with that 1-2 in Bahrain, and the bonus point for fastest lap, while it was very much a case of what might have been for Red Bull after that late double retirement. Can they bounce back in Jeddah?
Mercedes currently lie second in the constructors’, and Haas are third. It’s all change to the pecking order in 2022, but who can back up their strong opening with more points this weekend?
● Ferrari 1.80
● Red Bull 2.20
● Mercedes 8.50
● Haas 51.0
● Alfa Romeo, Alpha Tauri, Alpine 67.0
● McLaren 101
● Aston Martin 601
● Williams 901
The odds for a Safety Car appearing during the race
The Safety Car did make an appearance in the inaugural Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, but will it be back out in 2022?
Yes 1.13
No 5.00
